I recently made some changes to my system. I installed 2 new drives. one of which is to use as temp for mcebuddy and I installed a sound blaster z pcie card. I also updated to the latest build of mcebuddy. Since doing this, I noticed that mcebuddy is not waiting for hdhomerun dvr to finish recording before it processes the file. I have uploaded my logs. thanks happy holidays and new year

There is another option to skip conversion if destination file exists. Use that

Have you set the aging day to 0 I'm your settings? Check it again. Now the option is moved to the monitor task expert settings. Make sure it is set to 1 minute or higher.

Edit the configuration file directly at your own risk.

Only use the UI. Every option is available through the UI

I think I got it my clock was off but only by a few seconds so I initially did not notice it. I changed aging to 3 min. Hopefully this will add some tolerance for this in the future. thanks

I have found the correct flag:

Conversion Tasks -> Advanced Settings -> Expert Settings button -> Selection Filters ->Skip Reconversion

It disables the Do Not Overwrite files at the bottom in the Miscellaneous section.

Perfect! Yes the UI does some validations to avoid getting into invalid configuration status.

My modified MP4/AC3/AAC profile is skipping FFMPEG because it is saying "libfdk_aac: Invalid argument". But the same exact command works fine when using the MP4 HQ profile?

It did complete the conversions using MENCODER but the audio was not how I wanted (2-ch AAC, 6-ch AC3). Instead all for conversions had 4 different results! 1 had 5-ch AC3 only, 1 had 6-ch AAC only, 1 had 10-ch AAC only and another had 12-ch AAC only! Weird, and none of them had 2 audio tracks, just the one.

I wish FFMPEG and MENCODER had better wiki's like HANDBRAKE.

Commented Unassigned: Xbox Extender won't play Conversions from ABC [2843]

So I've done as much troubleshooting as I can, but I am stumped.

TV shows recorded on the ABC channel Honolulu (KITV) when converted by MCEBuddy stutter when trying to play them on an Xbox 360 Extender.

I moved to Honolulu recently and did a clean install of my HTPC. My host HTPC that the Xbox Extenders connect to is an i3-2100 on a Z68 Gigabyte MoBo running Windows 7 Home Premium using Intel integrated graphics (no GPU). This is also the PC MCEBuddy resides on. The post MCEBuddy converted shows play fine on the host PC via WMP or Emby for WMC, they play fine on my Mac, and they play fine on my iPads via the Emby iOS app. However, they stutter continuously when trying to play them through WMC on the Xbox Extenders.

I've narrowed it down to only shows on ABC. Shows converted by MCEBuddy for NBC and Fox play fine.

It is not the specific Xbox, because both my Xbox 360s have this problem.

I thought it was MCEBuddy 2.4.2, so I tried the 11/20/15 build of 2.4.3 but it still happened, so I reverted to a version of 2.4.1 from before I moved that had always worked fine and it still happened.

I use a modified profile of the HQ MP4 profile where I also add in a AC3 audio track (H.264/AAC 2-ch/AC3 6-ch). So I reverted to the default HQ MP4 profile but it still did it. So I tried the HQ MKV profile and it still did it. I also tried the Fast MP4 profile, still stutters.

I unchecked hardware encoding and it still did it. I also made sure I had the most up-to-date Intel Graphics drivers. Still did it.

I unchecked 'detect and optimize video quality' but still did it.

I unchecked 'multichannel audio' but still stutters.

I thought maybe the beginning of the wtv files were corrupted, so I changed the 'start at' parameter of all profiles from 3 seconds to 60 seconds, but the converted files still stutter on the Xbox's.

I use the latest donator version of comskip and a custom comskip.ini.

I've uploaded the conversion logs for Modern Family and Agents of SHIELD (ABC shows) as well as the first 100,000 KB chunk of one of the original Modern Family wtv files (split using File Splitter from MCEBuddy ftp site), to a folder on the MCEBuddy ftp site called UPLOADS\ABC Shows.

If anyone else has a similar setup or uses MCEBuddy and Xbox extenders, can you try and convert the wtv file and see if the resultant mp4 or mkv play fine on your PC but stutters on the Xbox extenders?

This is driving me crazy!

Mencoder conversions were even better, but now I am trying to get the audio how i like it (figured it out with Handbrake).

Can you please share with you mean by it's better? What is the difference between handbrake, ffmpeg and mencoder? Are you using the stock profile or custom profile?

On the stock MP4 High Quality profile (no changes made).

When handbrake is used the output mp4 file plays fine on HTPC and desktop but stutters when played on an Xbox 360 WMC Extender.

When ffmpeg is used the output mp4 file plays fine on HTPC and desktop but plays about 5-10 seconds of video, pauses for 1-2 seconds, plays 5-10 seconds, pauses 1-2 seconds, etc. on the Xbox 360 WMC Extender.

When mencoder is used the output mp4 file plays fine on the HTPC and desktop and plays pretty well on the Xbox 360 WMC Extender with a stutter/pause every 5-10 minutes.

Again, this is only with shows recorded on ABC. Any other channel and the handbrake mp4 files play fine.

With the latest build, MCEBuddy doesn't seem to utilize CPU or GPU very much even with the Priority set at HIGH.

Converting HD MPEG2 to MP4: CPU is abt 24% and GPU is on 8-9%

ASUS ROG laptop, i7 4720HQ with GTX965M

Any settings in MCEBuddy that I squeeze out better performance?

:) no it was not comskip. You have an extra audio track and sometimes the encoders get it wrong which default audio track to use. It has been documented on the forum and in the FAQ common issues page. We try out best to select the best audio tracks but sometimes it can't and you just need to manually figure it out.
