For now I have created a batch file that would convert the menu into an EDL file instead of running comskip. I run the script in the PreMetaCustomCommand and I have had great success. I use ffprobe.exe to output the chapter list and use the Advertisement lines to create each line. By doing this I can have an edl file in secs and cut the video exactly where it needs to be.

I also use PlayOn (Playlater is now combined with PlayOn for single product) and would be very interested in this option. ComSkip is taking about 1.5 hours to process a single hour long video on 3.6G I7 using SSD. Which build should I use and I assume that no need to run the external script.

2.4.3
Commented Unassigned: Xbox Extender won't play Conversions from ABC [2843]
TV shows recorded on the ABC channel Honolulu (KITV) when converted by MCEBuddy stutter when trying to play them on an Xbox 360 Extender.
I moved to Honolulu recently and did a clean install of my HTPC. My host HTPC that the Xbox Extenders connect to is an i3-2100 on a Z68 Gigabyte MoBo running Windows 7 Home Premium using Intel integrated graphics (no GPU). This is also the PC MCEBuddy resides on. The post MCEBuddy converted shows play fine on the host PC via WMP or Emby for WMC, they play fine on my Mac, and they play fine on my iPads via the Emby iOS app. However, they stutter continuously when trying to play them through WMC on the Xbox Extenders.
I've narrowed it down to only shows on ABC. Shows converted by MCEBuddy for NBC and Fox play fine.
It is not the specific Xbox, because both my Xbox 360s have this problem.
I thought it was MCEBuddy 2.4.2, so I tried the 11/20/15 build of 2.4.3 but it still happened, so I reverted to a version of 2.4.1 from before I moved that had always worked fine and it still happened.
I use a modified profile of the HQ MP4 profile where I also add in a AC3 audio track (H.264/AAC 2-ch/AC3 6-ch). So I reverted to the default HQ MP4 profile but it still did it. So I tried the HQ MKV profile and it still did it. I also tried the Fast MP4 profile, still stutters.
I unchecked hardware encoding and it still did it. I also made sure I had the most up-to-date Intel Graphics drivers. Still did it.
I unchecked 'detect and optimize video quality' but still did it.
I unchecked 'multichannel audio' but still stutters.
I thought maybe the beginning of the wtv files were corrupted, so I changed the 'start at' parameter of all profiles from 3 seconds to 60 seconds, but the converted files still stutter on the Xbox's.
I use the latest donator version of comskip and a custom comskip.ini.
I've uploaded the conversion logs for Modern Family and Agents of SHIELD (ABC shows) as well as the first 100,000 KB chunk of one of the original Modern Family wtv files (split using File Splitter from MCEBuddy ftp site), to a folder on the MCEBuddy ftp site called UPLOADS\ABC Shows.
If anyone else has a similar setup or uses MCEBuddy and Xbox extenders, can you try and convert the wtv file and see if the resultant mp4 or mkv play fine on your PC but stutters on the Xbox extenders?
This is driving me crazy!

ffmpeg and encoder both failed for some reason. Perhaps because my custom audio commands (2ch AAC and 6ch AC3) aren't written correctly (handbrake has a much better wiki than those 2!). I am going to run them on the default MP4/HQ profile and see.

ffmpeg converted the files last night. The output mp4 were a little better. Instead of constantly stuttering like with handbrake, with ffmpeg they play about 5-10 seconds then pause for 1-2 seconds, then play 5-10 seconds, etc. Trying mencoder tonight.
Attached are the logs from the ffmpeg conversions.
New Post: Extracting metadata (episode, showname etc) from files and supplementing from internet
I've looked for the same thing in the past and the only method I was able to find was a manual overwrite of metadata using mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/). I use it for kids shows which almost always seem to have incorrect season/episode information. The manual method works, but it would be much better if it was automated.

@AKGordon
It might also be good to use one of the beta builds since there have been some additional improvements added that help with cutting ads from PlayOn files. PlayOn has become my DVR for half my shows, and MCEBuddy does an excellent job cutting out commercials. The setup for me took a little while, mainly due to audio sync issues, but once I got that figured out it's worked great. Anytime I have an issue now, it's always an issue with the PlayOn recording and not with MCEBuddy.
New Post: Optimized Audio Conversion Help
My goal is a MP4 output file with 1 H.264 video stream and 2 audio streams, the first is 2 channel AAC and the second is 6 channel AC3.
I've successfully accomplished this by editing the audio parameters of the handbrake [MP4 High Quality] profile as follows:
handbrake-audio=-E faac,ffac3 -R auto -B 384
handbrake-audioac3=-E faac,copy:ac3
handbrake-AudioOptimized=true
However, when I have tried to edit the mencoder and ffmpeg audio profiles, I get an error in MCEBuddy and it skips to the handbrake one that works.
Can some one look at my latest mencoder and ffmpeg audio profiles, I am going to try them tonight as I did some editing today Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong? Here are my latest:
mencoder-audio=-oac faac -faacopts br=192:mpeg=4:tns:object=2 -channels 2 -oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=ac3:abitrate=192 -channels 6
mencoder-audioac3=-oac faac -faacopts br=384:mpeg=4:tns:object=2 -channels 2 -oac copy
mencoder-AudioOptimized=true
ffmpeg-audio=-map 0:a -c:a -acodec libfdk_aac -ab 192k -ac 2 -c:a -acodec ac3 -ab 192k -ac 6
ffmpeg-audioac3=-map 0:a -c:a -acodec libfdk_aac -ab 384k -ac 2 -c:a copy
ffmpeg-AudioOptimized=true

Thanks for the advice and I will try the beta soon. So far 2.4.3 has been working well although it took me a bit to find the option to select in the advanced settings. Thanks to all for their good quality work!
New Post: Avoid convert if the output file already exists
I’m catching up on some series I want to preserve and so when I monitor my recordings, the recorder might capture the same Season and Episode again…
I’d like MCE Buddy to just end the conversion process when it finds that the output file would be the same.
Mythbusters_2014_08_01.wtv -> converted to S2014E14-Mythbusters.mp4
Mythbusters_2015_10_14.wtv -> would be converted to S2014E14-Mythbusters.mp4, but don’t bother, it already exists.
Thanks,
Tom

New Post: Avoid convert if the output file already exists
The check box instructions for that flag say:
“When this box is checked, the destination file will not be overwritten if it already exists.
Instead a new file will be created with a unique number added to the end of the filename.”
I’ve tried that flag before, and it works as documented, I get multiple files with a unique number for each on the end.
Instead, I would prefer to not have the conversion happen at all.
But, you had my hopes up!
