Commented Issue: MCE Buddy uses the wrong audio stream [1430]

MCE Buddy 2.3.11
On some of my UK freeview recordings - (Windows 8) I am getting the first audio stream as a mono verbal description for the visually impaired and the second is the stereo soundtrack.

Converting directly to a TS stream MCE Buddy seems to pick the first and gives me no way to change this. Both are 'eng' language so I can not use the language selection to resolve.

Language has also been set to as recommended in discussions but it always selects the audio description stream.

Most other transcoders seem to pick the correct one by default presumably using some other attribute such as bit rate or channels to guess at the correct one.

This basically means I cannot use MCE Buddy for my conversions. I presume most other UK freeview users may have the same problem?

In 2.3.12 the track selection is left upto the encoder. So if the encoder is not able to figure out, there is no golden way to do it. You can modify the profile command line to specify which audio track to use, again this is hard coded like 1 or 2 etc. Which brings you back to the same issue if the track order changes.

The only other thing you can do is either use MKV or open the MP4 profile and change the order to ffmpeg first. This will copy ALL audio tracks to the final file, that way your player can select the appropriate audio track
