Commented Feature: Convert to h.264/WTV [1429]

Cable TV records in MPEG2/WTV. For archive, it would be preferable to store in h.264/WTV.Can MCEBuddy be updated to rencode the MPEG2 into h.264 within the WTV container?

I haven't had much time to look into this. What is happening is that some setting is throwing off MCE.
I would suggest you experiment with the settings. Nothing much more really. Just need to find the right video encoding settings which make it compatible. Try using high profile main profile etc from handbrake instead if this elaborate settings and work your way from there.

I will only be able to look into this after a few weeks unfortunately. Right now top focus is to get hardware profiles setup for all OS.
