It apparently got the year from somewhere because the .nfo file saved along with the mkv shows:

I am using a custom rename mask of %ismovie%<Movies\%showname% (%airyear%)\%showname%-%airyear%,TV_Shows\%showname%\%showname%-S%season%##E%episode%##-%episodename%> and the log shows the year was found from "WM/OriginalReleaseTime: 2003" however the filenames saved were "Lady Jayne Killer-.mkv" and "Lady Jayne Killer-.nfo" The folder created was "Lady Jayne Killer ()"

I previously reported this but because I was running 2.3.12 was told to upgrade and the issue would be resolved. I do not have the original wtv file however it seems the metadata could be modified on just about any show to match the name and year. The original log is attached.

This is very interesting, thanks for reporting this. I'll fix this.

Here's what happened. WTV has a 2 separate fields for original broadcast dates. One for movies and one for other shows.

The XML part of the code was picking up the movie date where as the generic extracting code was lookinat the non movie dates. The generic extracting code is used to rename files.

Will let you konw once it's done.
