Commented Issue: Video cut out Using AVI NoRecode Profile [1406]

Using AVI profile, unable to get entire video, appears output is corrupted.
Comments: ** Comment from web user: rboy1 **

For the TS profile issue, I have fixed this in 2.3.11 (it's a bug in the profiles.conf)

For now open profile.conf and replace the TS profile with the following profile and it should start working:

[TS from WTV/DVRMS/TS]

Description=Use this to copy the WTV/DVRMS files to TS format and to remove commercials from your TS videos. It does not recode the video and is very sensitive to errors in the video. CAUTION: Creates very large files

order=copy

copy-ext=.ts

copy-audiodelay=skip

FixedResolution=true

SkipCropping=true

I have tried upgrading to to 2.3.10 several times over the last couple of days and continue to run into the same error: MCEBuddy service unavailable. Please start from Windows Control Panel or check engine connection.  I have verified the service is started.  I have followed the upgrade instructions to the best of my ability but to no avail.  Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not able to replicate the issue, the audio track on AVI MPEG-2 is working fine.

Anyways, MCEBuddy selects the tracks with the highest number of audio channels (2 to 6) (unless the language is specified in which it selects that language if found) and if it finds more than one track with the same number of channels it selects the 1st audio track.

In this case, since no language is specified and there are 2 eng tracks both with 6 channels it selects the 1st audio track - which in my reproduction is teh right track and works fine.

Try a clean install - the procedure is listed in the Documentation -> Installation Issues section. Make sure you delete all the back up files after uninstalling MCEBuddy and ensure that the service is also deleted.

Possibly there'a conflict from a previous installation.

rboy1,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I have tried to do a clean install several times (I tried again after your message) without any success.  Can you suggest any other possible solutions.

RE: MPEG-TS problem, thank you. I'll fix my profile for now and I look forward to 2.3.11's release.

RE: Audio Track problem.
I've encoded the same video on two different computers with the same garbage audio track selected for the output. I'm not sure what to do since I have several other recordings that give me the same problem. I've had this problem since 2.3.8 (First version I started using). I can send you my output avi file if you'd like but I think that will help troubleshoot the problem. Is there anything you'd suggest I try? I'll try the encode on another computer in the mean time just to see.

Hmm look like the corruption you're talking about is being caused by remuxsupp. Try this. Delete the RT folder inside the remuxsupp folder and see if that fixes the issue. I've addressed thsi issue in 2.3.11

The problem however lies with your TV tuner drivers, it's not sending correct audio data to MCE for recording. I've checked the recording and even ffmpeg is reporting corrupted data in your WTV file. While it will work after deleting the RT folder (i.e. not using RemuxSupp) however you should look into why your TV tuner driver is sending corrupted audio data.

Comments:

Corrupted data being sent from the audio recording by TV tuner card
Workaround provided in 2.3.11 (avoid using Remuxsupp which cannot handle corrupted audio)

Click on Events on the MCEBuddy Status screen and post any errors log you see there. For some reason MCEBuddy App is not able to communicate with the MCEBuddy engine this usually happens for 2 reasons:

1. Some previous installation is  left behind which has blocked the MCEBuddy communication port/channel

2. Some 3rd party tool is blocking the MCEBuddy communication port / channel (e.g. Antivirus/Firewall or Seagate tools)

All looks good here, looks like some 3rd party tool may be blocking the communication

try this:

Start windows in Safe mode. Start the MCEBuddy service from the control panel and then try to connect with the application. If that works then it's some firewall or app that's blocking MCEBuddy.

Also have you tried disabling the Windows Firewall and Antivirus?

New Post: Lossless mkv conversion profile?

I'm trying to create a profile for mcebuddy that will simply change the container for h264 mkvs to wtv and nothing else.  The one included seems to be remuxing to mpeg2.  I've looked at the documentation, but I can't figure it out.

Unfortunately current implementation of MCEBuddy/FFMPEG only support MPEG-2 in WTV. Mpeg-4 is slated for future releases.

Try this, open the GUI, click on the connect to button next to the Priority box.

Replace localhost with the IP address of your computer and click OK. (keep the port the same)
